The essential oil is extracted by steam distillation from the flowers, leaves and young twigs of the Niaouli tree. The oil is pale yellow to dark yellow in colour, depending on the copper content of the soil.
Niaouli is closely related to Cajuput and although they both contain powerful antiseptic qualities, Niaouli is kind to skin and should not cause skin irritation. Niaouli is warm and comforting yet stimulating and should be avoided in the evening.
Blends well with: Lavender, Citrus oils Geranium.
Safety Information:
- Never take internally
- Never use undiluted on the skin, mix with a suitable carrier oil, one drop to 2mls of carrier oil
- Do not use in pregnancy
- Keep out of the reach of children
